About Role The Director of Farm Operations will lead operations for the South San Francisco Plenty farm with functional responsibility encompassing farm operations, production scheduling, and maintenance.  They will be responsible for setting up, running and continuously improving standard operating procedures that ensure rigor and consistency while at the same time creating and nurturing a culture of ingenuity and growth for the people who work in the farm. This action is expected to ensure that the farm operates reliably 365 days per year and produces the highest quality produce while keeping people safe.  In this role, the candidate will develop an operating cadence that includes daily interaction and "shoulder to shoulder" leadership and direction of operations.  They will drive performance through cross-functional team meetings where collaboration, data analysis, and peer influence is paramount for executing actions that enable success.  The leader will energize the farm with a charismatic style while operating with strategic urgency.  They will articulate the performance of the farm through periodic all company meetings and set the short and long range plans for manufacturing and organizational.  This key leader will embrace ambiguity and complexity while creating an inspiring vision for the team and organization.  A natural ability to connect with others to build strong relationships and to communicate clearly and persuasively is also a key personal trait.   What You'll Do Define and continuously improve a Plenty “Operating System” based on LEAN / Six-Sigma with a  regular metrics-driven cadence and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).     Recruit, train and grow a world-class farm operations team including ongoing development, detailed job definitions and career paths.   Define requirements for and implement appropriate processes and supporting IT tools for  effective farm operations.   Ensure effective regulatory / EH&S compliance in each facility.    Develop and manage deep partnerships with functions across Plenty, including R&D, Business  Operations, Marketing, Sales, and EH&S.   What We're Looking For Scaling, and high automation: Deep experience scaling and operating a manufacturing facility that   leverages a high degree of automation.   Relentless excellence and improvement: Reputation for creating and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement that values and provides ongoing growth opportunities for people at all levels in the organization. Plenty is an indoor, vertical farming company that is shining a new light on the way we do food. It calls for less time, space, and resources while producing full-flavor, fresher, more cravable produce. Plenty’s produce is currently sold and found in national and local retail grocers. The people and teams who make up Plenty are at the core of how we do that. We are looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to join our marketing team who will be responsible for planning and executing paid channels, and measuring success (conversion and sales lift) across our go-to-market efforts. You’ll be working alongside a collective of growers, innovators, engineers, scientists, artists, foodies and plant romantics working to improve the quality of plants, people, and planetary health. About Role This is a strategic and executional role - we need someone who brings a wealth of domain expertise, while rolling up their sleeves to directly manage campaigns to drive key objectives as Plenty grows within its very first market and subsequent markets soon-to-come. You will work with the broader marketing team consisting of creative, brand and integrated marketing, to drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention. You will drive all aspects of performance media such as continuously testing new strategies and channels to scale acquisition, measuring performance and allocating budgets accordingly. An ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing paid social and search, as well as a natural inclination and affinity toward developing and refining data sets that support a highly attributable, surgical approach to growth and budgets. This role reports into the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing and is a key player in defining and driving the marketing team’s success. What You’ll Do Define and oversee all paid acquisition channels, including digital and offline paid media, with heavy focus on paid social and search Develop and optimize creative assets and tools in partnership with in-house creative, brand and product teams Help define KPIs and manage tightly to CAC and LTV targets, with daily, weekly and monthly tracking and reporting. Manage performance marketing tech stack Collaborate with marketing team on strategy, analytics, audience segmentation, attribution, lifecycle journeys and retention strategies Identify, test and optimize the best performance marketing channels to drive ROI Provide analytical thinking, problem solving and strategic frameworks to maximize the brand’s potential Build the framework for and communicate, track and measure progress Leverage data and insights to drive strategic and tactical marketing decision making and optimization, and demonstrate business impact - move quickly and fail fast! Sponsor the development and testing of new programs that will build brand awareness and drive demand, and use data, technology, and creative channel solutions to create a brand experience that doesn’t exist Establish goals, objectives performance metrics, and develop an appropriate marketing investment level based on business objectives.
