Position Description Geronimo is seeking an experienced Developer to lead the development team into a new community solar or distributed generation market. The Developer will be directly responsible for the business and project development activities of the company’s pipeline of projects within the market. Duties Lead and be responsible for the roll out of a new community solar and distributed generation market for the company; become the internal market expert Review and engage in policies and regulatory changes to identify new market issues and solutions; follow tariff rate structures and market changes Manage program details for submission and acceptance of projects, including interconnection applications Manage a remote team, including land acquisition agents and consultants Research local land use ordinances for applicability to solar development Meet and coordinate with local jurisdictions, agencies and organizations Lead and manage community outreach Work closely with the permitting team on obtaining entitlements (land use permits, etc) for each project Represent the company and project at public hearings Create and manage project budget. Coordinate with the finance and construction team to ensure project viability. Utilize Excel, Google Earth, and other Microsoft Office software tools Travel up to 50% of the time. Experience Experience: Minimum 3 years of project development experience (energy, real estate, housing development, etc.). Proven leadership capabilities. Education: College level preferred. About this position: Geronimo Energy is seeking an intern to join its growing Marketing team for the summer of 2020. She or he will assist with marketing, communications, and business development activities that have a real impact, and present on their experience to Geronimo leadership staff at the end of the summer. The intern will learn fast in a changing and growing company and will take away “real world experience” as well as a better understanding of the renewable energy industry. Duties include, but are not limited to: Research for a variety of needs, including but not limited to media relations, advertising, communications, events, marketing campaigns, sales leads and/or general market/industry research. Assist in the creation of Sales and Marketing Target lists, demographic analysis, and lead management. Assist in the day-to-day management of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Assist in editing and/or creating marketing literature and advertisements, including overseeing printing and ordering. Assist with event and conference planning. Assist in the creation and distribution of both internal and external communications, including via email, written correspondence and phone calls. Assist in editing and maintaining content and design of websites and social media accounts. Prepare weekly reports to provide status of work activities. Other duties as assigned. The intern will: Be introduced to the world of energy pricing and market considerations necessary for Geronimo Energy’s investments. Assist the Finance team in modeling renewable energy projects, many with enterprise values in excess of $250 million, in order to determine Geronimo’s potential return on investment Develop working experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in order to become a more efficient working professional. Gain experience “working under pressure” to hit tight timelines for management. Practice and hone the skill of being extremely thorough, careful, and detail oriented. Gain experience making professional slide decks, both for internal and external use, that will be useful in whatever career the student chooses to pursue. Gain exposure to senior executive team through weekly finance meetings (& others) to enhance presentation/speaking skills. This person will be responsible for project-based financial modeling and preparing documentation, reporting, and analysis to aid investment managers from deal screening through investment recommendation. In addition, the Associate will work with other financial professionals handling detailed evaluation of renewable energy project investment opportunities and serving on deal teams for due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
