Your role and your team: 

We are looking for a Tooling and Fixture Designer who will be highly involved in the day to day manufacturing facilities of Lilium’s revolutionary product.

In this position you will report directly to the Manufacturing Lab Team Leader and will work on a variety of projects and tasks to support Lilium’s production organization. As part of this role, you will be asked to use your experience and flexibility to provide support to different manufacturing departments for the design, manufacturability and production of the tooling and fixtures. You will be asked to assist the workshop in creating design data, work related documentation as well as work Instructions. You will also support the manufacturing engineering team by bringing efficient and lean solution for the manufacturing of the parts but also for tooling and fixture systems designs.

Your Day to Day:

  • Work as a Tooling and Fixture designer to bring support in:
    • Fixture and tooling Design
    • Creation of work instructions and processes.
    • Troubleshooting and feedback of errors to the corresponding teams, cooperation for root cause analysis
    • Implement and sustain manufacturing methods for different parts requested.
  • Support with building tooling libraries and creating a sustainable and efficient Tooling System
  • Support project creation and work packages for the Manufacturing Lab (Machining, CNC, Welding, Assemblies, 3D Printing) as well as the supply chain.
  • Work cross functionally with related departments
    • work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes, equipment, tooling and machining efficiency.
    • improve manufacturing standards and process requirements
    • support digital improvements and innovations while working with manufacturing execution systems
  • Assist Manufacturing Lab. team in development of tooling and new equipment commissioning and implementation 


Your Profile 

  • Educational background as Tool Maker, CAD Designer and/or Mechanical Engineer
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Tool Design and General CAD Design
  • Good knowledge of most common manufacturing methods (Machining, Welding, Assembly)
  • Experience with production technical support and solution oriented
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation
  • Ability to read and interpret the needs of different team members
  • Experience with the creation of project related documentation in relation with the fabrication of different parts and/or assemblies
  • Experience in Siemens NX essential.
  • High ability to adapt to constantly changing situations.
  • Optimize the design to reduce manufacturing costs and lead times
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously
  • Sense of entrepreneurship and solution oriented
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and urgencies
  • English language is a plus
