Activate partners with funders and leading research institutions to support the Activate Fellowship, a new path for top scientists and engineers to transform their discoveries into world-changing technologies. Since 2016, Activate has supported more than 50 entrepreneurial research fellows at Cyclotron Road, a program of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. These fellows have developed transformative energy, climate, and manufacturing technologies, resulting in more than 40 new companies that have collectively raised more than $150 million to support their work. Now, Activate is scaling the Cyclotron Road fellowship model starting with Activate Boston. The two-year fellowship programs provide funding, access to world-class research facilities, entrepreneurial mentorship, networking, and education.
The Partnership Manager will be responsible for driving valuable collisions between Activate Fellows and a wide diversity of partners including corporate contacts, investors, advisors, and service providers.
The Partnership Manager will work closely with the fellows and the Boston team to cultivate an impactful network of experts, influencers and commercial partners and draw appropriate connections. In addition to managing the local network, the Partnership Manager will be responsible for managing communication and interactions with the wide variety of visitors and guests of the Boston site.
The Boston Partnership Manager will be hired as a full time employee of Activate Global, Inc. with competitive salary and full benefits. The Partnership Manager will report to the Boston Managing Director and work closely with the VP Partnerships.
Drive day-to-day interactions with industry partners, investors, and sponsors, including coordination of site visits, update calls, and general outreach activities
Catalyze engagement and collaboration between our fellows and industry and financial partners
Cultivate and increase the impact of our current network
Identify new opportunities for mutually valuable modes of engagement between our fellows and our partners
Develop marketing content needed to recruit new partners and keep current partners informed and engaged
Monitor and report on technology, industry and investment trends
Build awareness of Activate within the community
Harness and analyze data to communicate impact of Boston program and inform strategic growth
Represent Activate at industry events and other public forums
Has 3 - 5 years of business development and corporate development experience especially in the fields of semiconductors and microelectronics
Has the ability to understand and communicate technology driven innovations.
Has a rolodex of contacts at semiconductor and defense related corporations
Has a track record of contributing to technology product development and/or sales
Has working knowledge of Boston’s innovation ecosystem
Familiar with early stage investment and financing ecosystem
Has exceptional communication and relationship building skills
Feels like the world's scientific and entrepreneurial talent should be focused on more serious pursuits than dog-walking apps
Understands that innovation starts with people, not ideas
