Job Description

Raise Green is a financial technology company that allows anyone to invest in local clean energy and community resilience using our SEC licensed and FINRA approved Funding Portal. We offer a two-sided marketplace in which solar project creators can raise funding for their projects and individuals can invest in those projects. Our inclusive financing model can be used for any project that has a contractual cash flow such as community solar, microgrids, electrical vehicle infrastructure, community agriculture, energy efficiency, and battery deployments — as long as social and environmental benefits are at the core of their design. We crowdfund a healthy, just, and sustainable future that allows anyone to own resilient, local infrastructure.

Our Environmental Justice Intern is dedicated to fighting climate change, social injustices and income inequality.  You will help shape our communications strategy to activate hundreds of “Originators” to create their own green jobs. Originators are sparks in the community who want to create, fund, build, and run climate-resilient infrastructure in their neighborhoods. Raise Green’s “Originator Engine” makes it easier to open a solar array or housing co-op in your neighborhood than a gas station or a fast food restaurant. The Originator Engine is designed for knowledge equity and access to capital. We are providing the tools of institutional finance and template legal contracts to local leaders so they can determine what gets built in their community and profit from it if the projects are successful.  You will help us share these tools and empower communities across the country.

On a daily basis, you will be meeting with potential project creators, designing outreach materials, managing user questions, and sharing feedback with our team to refine the Originator Engine. You should be comfortable adapting to the fast-changing nature of an early stage startup.  We look forward to making space for you to create what you imagine is possible, desirable, and inspiring. Raise Green’s Environmental Justice Intern will be a vanguard in the inclusive climate finance field —  this is the defining decade. We have to make a difference.
