Your role and your team:

  • Central point of contact for all High-Performance-Computing (HC) demands
  • Coordinate and manage suppliers and partners required to provide HPC services
  • Build / customize and deploy clusters end to end
  • Liaise with user departments to plan, design and implement HPC clusters
  • Responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, availability, performance, security and maintenance of the high-performance computing infrastructure and application landscape.

Your Day to Day:

  • Collect and manage demands from our business units
  • Scout market, run proof-of-concepts of solutions to fulfill businesses’ demands
  • Create architecture designs in line with the IT standards and company policies
  • Establish, configure, test and maintain the HPC software stack (operating systems, application software and system management tools)
  • Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency
  • Install, add, change, upgrade, migrate or decommission HPC cluster and cluster components as well as applications
  • Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Provide ongoing maintenance/support/upgrades of HPC clusters and applications
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability


Your Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in an HPC environment, at least 5 years of system administration and engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administation
  • Familiarity with large HPC cluster and grid designs
  • Familiarity with emerging cluster and compute paradigms
  • Proven experience with workload managers und queuing systems such as PBS or Slurm
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts
  • Experience with network base provisioning tool such as Puppet is a plus
  • Understanding and experience in wide range of IT technologies:
    • HPC technologies preferably HPE, plus are Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)
    • Hadoop experience is a plus
    • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, PHP or others)
    • Good understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
    • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
  • Ability to work in a highly energetic, dynamic, and fast-moving environment
  • Willing and able to take on new and unfamiliar IT technologies, constant learning
  • Strong motivation to help build and shape the organisation, structures, and processes
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, any other languages would be beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science, or similar working experience
