The role:                                             

We are looking for an outstanding and experienced ‘Modelling & Simulation Engineer - Avionics’ to join our innovative team and thus shape the future of urban e-mobility.

 This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of simulator development in the emerging E-VTOL industry.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop the engineering simulators that will be used throughout the organisation to support aircraft development, test and acceptance processes.

You will be encouraged to make use of existing and emerging techniques/technologies and will work closely with other departments to develop a state of the art, integrated, simulation and test facility.

 You will take responsibility for the development of subsystems models to ensure their compliance to all applicable requirements and standards.

 You will run or support different levels of simulations including desktop fast time, SW-In-The-Loop, HW-In-The-Loop, and Pilot-In-The-Loop ones.


Your day to day:

  • Contribute to all aspects in the development of current and future engineering flight simulator assets including:
  • Requirement definition for our simulators based on Avionics team needs
  • Design and development of the Avionics sub-system models and particularly sensors models
  • Support Avionics model-based design during the different stages of the Avionics life-cycle including requirements verification with formal analysis and simulations
  • Support Avionics requirements validation with requirements modelling and user-cases modelling and simulation
  • Qualification of our simulators for engineering use
  • Support to simulator test campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and stakeholders
  • Co-ordination and interfacing with engineering suppliers checking the quality of the models provided and/or of the models to be delivered
  • Integration of in-house simulation models and third-party applications into the simulator distributed architecture


Your profile:

  • in Aeronautical/Computer Engineering or similar degree
  • Experience in Simulator qualification is a plus
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • 5+ years of experience working on engineering simulator / integration rig development in an aerospace environment.
  • Experience in Avionics models development including sensors models development
  • Experience of integration of aircraft avionics into a simulation environment is a strong plus
  • Proficiency with industry standard programming languages
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink
  • Experience with Airborne SW development is a strong plus
  • Simulink Coder and Simulink Real-Time is a plus
  • Fluent English language skills are essential.
