Job Description

 Overview

As a member of Enel X’s Sales Organization you will collaborate with other Solutions Engineers (SEs) and Business Development Managers (BDMs) to provide the support needed to execute the Sales plan. With this goal in mind, you will work to understand customer’s requirements, identify solutions to meet the customer requirements, develop the business case for both internal and external stakeholders, and support the Sales Team in presenting this business case to the customer.

- Works highly independently in partnership with sales, product marketing, product management, and engineering as a critical link between internal technical resources, the end customer and key stakeholders
- Leads pre-sales functions to enable efficient and data-driven project assessment
- Drive revenue by clearly communicating the range of solutions/benefits across the spectrum of performance, cost, risk and compliance to provide value to the customer while maximizing business results
- Possesses deep technology and application knowledge of energy storage, solar, and other distributed energy resources (DERs)
- Hands-on energy storage and solar system modeling experience
- Quickly and accurately identifies solutions
- Communicates actionable market requirements as requested
- Has insight into changing technology and evolving competitive threats to continuously improve and refine product and solution offerings in a fast-changing market
- Acts as a technical resource and demonstrate a high standard of leadership by actively developing and mentoring less experienced staff and new hires.
Responsibilities
- Highly flexible in day-to-day activities easily moving from direct customer interface, to sales support, to engineering engagement and interaction with key stakeholders
- Excels in diverse roles including system modeling and design as well as customer and channel partners interactions
- Co-develops strategy and associated tactics for closing Enel X business within a team environment within a defined geographic region
- Focuses diligently on enabling the sales team to exceed customer expectations; positions Enel X as the vendor of choice and
- Identifies opportunities and applications for Enel X products and services
- Work in close coordination with key technical contacts within the Engineering and Operations organizations; supports site level pre-engineering and pre-design
- Professionally prepares written documentation required for client presentations, RFPs and other documents as required.
- Delivers expert product demonstrations utilizing product knowledge blended with customer needs and insights gained through industry experience
- Works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements
- Interfaces with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person to answer application/system questions and help customers solve technical problems.
- Develops regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as demand response, ancillary services, etc.
- Contributes to the development of technical documentation and articles on products, services, and applications as part of Enel X thought leadership initiatives
- Able to train others inside and outside the organization and to think outside the box, be creative, and take initiative
- Travel for regularly within region, and periodically out of the region to support corporate initiatives as required

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related technical degree
- 8+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role such as sales engineering, application engineering, field engineering or other technical support role
- 3+ years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience
- Located in assigned territory to enable regular close contact with key customers, vendors and stakeholders
- Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction
- Strong customer focus, with unwavering attention to safety and quality
- Ability to work in teams, in a fast-paced environment
- Experienced in customer training
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)
- Strong business and technical analytical skills required
- Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical and operational requirements.
- Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Travel required up to 25% of the time and up to 10% of the travel will be outside assigned area.
