Cruise is looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer. In this role, you will work with our design engineers, quality engineers, and manufacturing partners to design and bring-up production lines. What you’ll be doing:

  • Participate in regular design reviews with a focus on DFM/DFT input
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers alongside our Quality Engineers
  • Work with design teams to incorporate necessary features for Functional and EOL testing at external manufacturing partners.
  • Design test systems and fixtures to be deployed on supplier lines
  • Work with internal Cruise teams to design a data capture and storage system for all manufacturing test data
  • Work with Quality team to identify and characterize failures on the line
  • Work with manufacturing partners to streamline and optimize inline test processes
  • Document all test methods and systems deployed at Cruise’s partners

What you must have:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 
  • 5+ years of experience with manufacturing test engineering with proficiency in: test development, fixture design, test optimization and data analysis in a scale manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience designing fixtures and tools in Solidworks or similar CAD
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing test standards and methods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Well-organized and maintains great records 

Bonus points!

  • Experience in automotive, data center or advanced sensors
  • Proficiency in manufacturing line design and optimization 
  • Optical alignment and EOL test 
  • Experience with LabView/Python/C/C++
