The Embedded Systems Test team is dedicated to building test coverage for all the embedded software and firmware that is part of the autonomous vehicle system developed by Cruise. We work closely with software development, hardware, and systems teams to achieve our goals.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with developers, systems engineers and product managers to define testing and automation strategies that will impact the long term success of the Embedded Systems team.
  • Drive the definition of our automated test infrastructure.
  • Help the team to improve efficiency and efficacy of processes.
  • Mentor others and be a role model for the team.

What you must have:

  • 10+ years experience defining tests and developing test automation 
  • Excellent python coding skills.
  • Experience with hardware in the loop testing
  • Experience applying and mentoring team members on software and test best practices
  • Capable of influencing others and building consensus even over contentious technical debates
  • Play a key role in others’ professional development, adding value to their career via improving their technical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent real world experience.

Bonus points! 

  • Experience developing in C, C++
  • GitHub and git experience
  • Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework), Jira, svn/git, and Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI)
  • Experience testing medical devices, aviation, automotive, or other safety critical application
