The opportunity

We are looking for a Solutions Architect who will join our Professional Services team, which is a client-centric, driven, results-oriented hands-on group focusing on delivering end-to-end business and technical solutions to Opus One Solutions’ customers and partners.

Reporting to VP of Professional Services, the Solutions Architect works truly cross-functional: working closely with our partners, sales and strategic growth team, project managers, product managers, research and development team and the delivery team. This role requires an individual with the flexibility to undertake deep technical analysis with utilities business perspective while focusing on client management, client communication and quality of services.

Who are you?

You are confident, passionate, optimistic and a team-oriented Solutions Architect, who understands emerging energy industry trends and implications on utilities. You can lead the implementation process with responsibility for technical leadership of Opus One’s software solution while ensuring seamless client management.

As Solutions Architect you bring products, services and support together to construct a powerful and attractive offer for Opus One’s customers. You have the ability to think strategically, have a sharp focus on revenue generation, be able to dive into appropriate technical depth when required and evangelize the solution that would best meet the customer needs – internally and externally.

W hat will our new S olutions Architect work on?

  • Lead project implementation with responsibility for technical leadership for the solution, overall project quality, delivery of the solution to ensure that the business objectives and stakeholder needs, and expectations are met.
  • Lead technical deliverables throughout the project life cycle.
  • Be involved in full project life cycle including requirements gathering, documentation, implementation, integration, testing, go live and maintenance.
  • Work with customers closely to define customer priorities, requirements, perform rapid assessments of customer’s internal technology infrastructure and design a solution with GridOS’s product suite to meet business needs.
  • Participate in RFP responses and presentations to prospective customer to articulate and align the business objectives and technology solution.
  • Communicate a win strategy during deal qualification stage for every business opportunity based on Opus One Solutions' differentiation.
  • Define offerings that incorporate both strategy and technology to put utilities on the path to optimize DERs for grid, customer, environment and economic benefit.
  • Support complete sales cycles and lead pre-sales presentation preparation, RFP responses, on-site demonstrations and provide input at deal closure on SOWs.
  • Coach and mentor Solutions Specialists.

Requirements

Here’s what you bring:

  • The education. You hold a BS/MSc in Engineering with a focus on power systems or relevant experience.
  • The experience. You have strong electricity industry knowledge; microgrid deployment, grid management, customer centric programs, asset management or power markets experience is highly desired. You also demonstrate the capability to support complete sales cycles.
  • The knowledge. You are highly familiar with emerging energy industry trends and implications on utility customers in the area of DER management, microgrids, distribution planning, IT, SCADA and asset management.
  • Client management. You are experienced in interacting with internal and external clients.
  • The Excellence. You get things done on-time and within the project deadlines.
  • The teamwork. You are self-motivated collaborator that can also work as a successful independent researcher.
  • The communication. You have exceptional written and oral communication skills, can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and provide high-level summaries of the solution to the C-suite.
  • The innovation. You have the ability to anticipate problems and provide strategic, creative, quick - and reliable - solutions to complex problems.

  • PEng designation
  • MBA or equivalent consulting experience
