Climate Neutral is a fast growing non-profit poised to become the trusted consumer standard for zero net carbon emissions. We’re addressing one of the world’s most urgent challenges with a common sense solution that has the potential to grow and achieve large impact. As part of the core team leading this small start-up, you will harness our existing momentum and accelerate it even further, applying artful communication to create understanding and build demand, smart strategy to identify the most fruitful opportunities for growth, and hands-on creativity and technical aptitude to get it all done. You will work collaboratively with our passionate team and autonomously to bring this exciting work to life within our small and fast-moving organization.


Climate Neutral works to decrease global carbon emissions by providing a trusted net zero carbon certification for brands. In our first year we certified over 140 brands across fashion, food, cosmetics, software, and other industries. Certified companies must measure and offset the carbon emissions from making and delivering their products and services. They use our label to show their consumers that they are working to halt climate change. To simplify the certification process, we built an easy-to-use software tool called the Brand Emissions Estimator (BEE).


Climate Neutral is looking for a head of marketing who will build demand among both consumers and brands for our Climate Neutral Certified label. You would oversee all aspects of marketing, including digital and offline marketing, communications, media strategy, and brand engagement. This job involves both planning and executing in a startup environment. You would play a central role in ensuring Climate Neutral achieves its ambitious impact goals, which are measured in the number of tonnes of greenhouse gases we certify.


You should be passionate and excited about the potential for brands to lead on climate change. And you should be ready to succeed in:

  • Developing and maintaining a high impact marketing plan
  • Managing our brand identity and keeping it fresh, relevant, and effective
  • Developing and launching creative and bold marketing campaigns
  • Building a social media presence to engage with consumers, businesses, and partners
  • Telling our story effectively to many different audiences
  • Preparing and maintaining a whole bunch of communication and media tools
  • Maintaining our website
  • At least 10 years of marketing experience
  • You’ve built and managed successful B2B demand generation campaigns
  • You’ve led high impact consumer marketing campaigns
  • You’ve worked on every aspect of a corporate marketing program
  • You are familiar with climate change and sustainability and how people talk about them
  • You write and communicate with a unique voice
  • You can boil complex topics down to concise concepts
  • You’re able to manage a portfolio of visually pleasing assets
  • You can use technology tools for graphic design, analysis, and document creation
