Job Summary

May Mobility is entering an exciting phase of growth as we expand our first-of-its-kind autonomous shuttle and mobility services across the nation. We are looking for a Computing Systems Engineer to design and integrate our next-generation vehicle computer system. This role will be part of the Autonomous Drive Kit (ADK) Team and will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle of our vehicle computer system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with autonomy engineers to define the computing requirements of the autonomy system
  • Design and manage vehicle computer system architecture and configurations
  • Research existing solutions and interface with suppliers to procure computer modules and components
  • Perform system integration of the computer system into the vehicle platform
  • Create and oversee test plans, interpret test results, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Characterize software performance on target hardware, identify bottlenecks, and recommend hardware and/or software solutions
  • Sensor specification, integration, testing, and data analysis

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • 3+ years of experience in Linux / UNIX software application development using C
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work across functional teams 
  • Experience with agile software development process
  • Independent problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with computer architecture, especially with respect to multi-core and multi-socket parallel processors

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • Experience defining requirements for safety-critical systems
  • Experience with Linux kernel or BSP development
  • Experience developing software for GPUs (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL)
  • Linux / UNIX system administration experience
  • Experience with Robotics or ADAS integration
  • Expertise with CAN, Serial, and Ethernet communication protocols
  • Strong electrical and electronic hardware design understanding
  • Coding and/or scripting experience in high level languages (e.g. Python, Bash)
