SUMMARY

We have an immediate need for a Community and Channel Sales Manager to help build strong relationships within the communities where our community solar projects are located. This individual will develop and manage relationships with potential channel partners as well as sell subscriptions to our community solar farms directly to businesses and organizations across the State of New York. 

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, self-motivated, goal-oriented and loves to build relationships with business and organizations that are focused on cheaper and cleaner energy. Interest in solar energy or electricity savings programs is preferred but not required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community and Channel Sales Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with local governments, energy consultants, businesses, and community groups in order to help sell the benefits of Community Solar with Nexamp. The Community and Channel Sales Manager will establish relationships with key partners to build trust around the Nexamp brand and help generate sales and inbound leads for the Inside Sales team. 

  • Identify and close potential channel partners and manage ongoing relationships
  • Lead or assist in educational and sales presentations to municipal, business, nonprofit, or residential groups. Close deals as needed. 
  • “Cold call”, “cold email” and network with organizations as needed in order to generate interest in community solar.
  • Develop, refine, and execute channel partnership strategy to drive leads to Inside Sales team. Channel partners may promote community solar on our behalf or may allow us to promote community solar directly their employees or their members. 
  • Work directly with Marketing team to provide marketing material, landing pages, or presentations required for the channel partnership to be successful.
  • Work with local government as needed to help educate them about the benefits of community solar.  
  • Work directly with Inside Sales team to ensure leads being generated are being closed. If desired, the Community and Channel Sales Manager can close any deals he or she generates.

 

This is a remote position based in New York State and you will be traveling to the communities that we serve. 30%-60% travel required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years previous experience working in channel management or sales
  • Previous experience in outside sales or community relations
  • Interest in renewable energy
  • Enjoy working on a team and independently to meet monthly goals 
  • Energy sales experience is a plus but not required
