Decision making and motion planning are the primary responsibilities of mobile robots. Taking input from a variety of perception and localization systems, the planner's job is to figure out where the robot is going and how to get there safely. As a software engineer on the motion planning architecture team, you are responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of the Planner software stack, monitoring and improving Planner runtime performance, hardening the underlying libraries that the Planner uses, and designing new software modules. You should be passionate about developing carefully tested high-quality C++ code for real-time systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong proficiency in C++
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience with software testing methodologies
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with safety-critical systems
- Experience with numerical methods
- Strong mathematical and geometrical skills
- Experience with Python
