The Vice President, Energy Storage Development will lead the origination and development of battery storage projects for Nexamp. The person selected for this role will cultivate Nexamp’s national storage strategy and lead the execution of the company’s business development activities, including storage project development, analysis, and innovation, alongside Nexamp’s distributed energy and utility scale solar businesses.  In addition, this individual will be responsible for the leadership and growth of Nexamp’s existing storage team.


  • Oversee Nexamp’s energy storage strategy, analysis, and development activities in existing and emerging Nexamp markets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and validate revenue streams for Nexamp energy storage projects.
  • Lead the origination and development of energy storage projects, providing oversight and management of development activities.
  • Lead and grow Nexamp’s battery storage team, including hiring and overseeing developers and technical personnel in support of development strategy.
  • Coordinate closely with other internal Nexamp business units, including EPC and Asset Management, to facilitate the successful adoption, implementation, and management of Nexamp energy storage projects.
  • Optimize storage project design for paired and standalone energy storage systems in coordination with Nexamp’s internal design, power engineering, finance, and construction teams.
  • Manage project development schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of storage development projects.
  • Oversee storage analysis and support internal finance, legal, design, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Identify and manage offerings of potential partners and technology providers to ensure optimization and value maximization of proposed storage solutions.
  • Travel as needed; some evening and weekend work required.


The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:

  • Ten plus years of energy industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record of project development.
  • At least three years of storage specific project development or commercial experience.
  • Technical and commercial understanding of storage development and deployment.
  • Understanding of renewable energy project finance, including lender/equity requirements
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team leader and collaborator.
  • 4-year relevant college degree required, graduate degree preferred
