What You Will Be Doing

The Vertical Sales Group - Electric Bus and Truck Solutions is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to join our team.

As a member of the eBus/eTruck solutions business you will be responsible for achieving  sales targets for the eBus/eTruck product portfolio by introduction of our innovative charging hardware, cloud services and project consulting services. You will be defining customer project requirements and working with the wider product and engineering teams to create propositions that add real value to our customers business.

The Technical Sales Manager is expected to engage extensively with key customers in public transit operations and heavy vehicle manufacturing for the bus, heavy truck and equipment market segments.

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing customer opportunities, engaging the target customer base, visiting customers, scoping technical projects for heavy vehicle charging infrastructure, preparation of technical documents and managing the customer offer and relationship through all phases of acquisition and deal closure.

We are seeking an experienced professional technical sales manager with an engineering background (ideally in the heavy vehicle or power engineering market segment) who has exceptional interpersonal and networking skills and a proven track record of engagement and capture on complex solution sales.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

As a Technical Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include a range of activities in the area of opportunity development, customer consulting and preparing customer offers:

  • Engage the market to generate leads and identify opportunities
  • Prepare technical customer offers and proposals
  • Work with the eBus/eTruck and cross functional teams to support all aspects of offer and bid preparation
  • Maintain and report customer engagement throughout the sales decision and closure phase
  • Create and maintain customer strategic account plans
  • Gather and share market intelligence with the eBus/eTruck and wider sales teams
  • Represent the business at industry events and conferences

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 year experience in a technical customer facing role
  • Working knowledge of the heavy commercial vehicle and or heavy equipment sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of electro-mobility, industry trends and technology developments
  • Previous experience of developing, bidding and closing complex solution sales

Ability to travel throughout Europe and internationally to support business needs
