World Tree (www.worldtree.info) is a leading agro-forestry company focused on growing farming communities; and producing strong financial returns to our investor and farmer base through the planting, managing, harvesting and selling sustainable timber from the Empress Splendor (Paulownia) tree. We are commercializing the Empress Splendor, the world’s fastest growing tree, in the Americas. Currently, World Tree has over 6,500 acres of trees under management in partnership with 150 farmers and will be expanding its operations significantly over the next year by planting an addition 30,000 acres in 2021.

World Tree is seeking an entrepreneurial, dynamic individual to support our finance & business development practice by producing in-depth financial models for budgeting, financing and investment. 

This position will report to the Head of Business Development. We are looking for a self-starter who can has extensive experience building robust financial models.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Proven ability to create financial projections and investment models for analysis of various projects.
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments.
  • The ability to critically think, analyze data and effectively communicate issues and opportunities in the business.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Passionate about working in impact investing/climate change.
  • Ability to provide written explanations and narratives of financial models and analyses.
  • Comfort working in a remote work environment as most of the interaction will likely be by phone, Zoom, and email.  

This is approximately an 4-week assignment.

Compensation based on experience.
