Job Description

ClimateAi is a mission-driven for-profit venture, currently in stealth mode aiming to create resilience products at the intersection of food, water, and energy. We use AI to predict the risk of climate change on specific assets and use this info to help design climate adaptation strategies for stakeholders ranging from growers in agriculture to investors in developing economies. We are challenging conventional wisdom by attacking problems in climate science that were previously thought to be insurmountable. These technology breakthroughs are unlocking new business model innovations for accelerating climate resilience.

We just raised our pre-series-A financing round backed by some of the most prominent names in the venture capital industry. ClimateAI was founded at Stanford University and the CEO has worked with Vice President Al Gore. We’re looking for a smart, passionate, team-oriented Director of Latin American Markets to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be based in Latin America- preferably Brazil.

About the role:

We are a young startup, looking for a passionate candidate who can contribute to our mission to deploy impactful solutions to the most important issue of our generation. Our focus will be on developing climate resilience tools for various sectors, with agriculture as our initial market. We are looking for a Director of Latin American markets to work at the intersection of climate change, business development, and product development with an objective of serving Brazilian, Colombian and other Latin American markets.

This person will lead the charge to develop, manage, and ultimately execute the business development strategy for Latin America, giving strategic insights to the technology team that is required to launch products in those markets and spearheading the commercialization efforts from prototypes to a final product. This individual should be able to identify multiple ways to address BD roadblocks and should be capable of breaking down a large strategic vision into the small, tangible steps necessary to achieve it while giving regular feedback to the tech/product teams.

In addition, the candidate will be working on shaping the vision of the company in those markets with the founding team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on open-ended projects with a small team in a fast-paced environment. We hire people who are collaborative, adaptable, communicate well and love to learn. Expect to give and receive constructive criticism as we are constantly re-evaluating our hypotheses and our products. While we are interested in all qualified applicants, the position is well suited for someone with 3+ years of work experience in the agriculture or ag-tech sector with a fair amount of industry connections.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years in a BD or strategic sales role or in management consulting. Experience working in a start-up environment and in the agriculture sector is a plus.

- BS/MS in engineering, math, statistics, computer science, economics, or agriculture. MBA degree is a plus and preferred.

- Experience selling to and building relationships with small organizations as well as large enterprises.

- Experience creating and implementing BD strategies for various industries/markets.

- Experience building up and managing a BD/sales team.

- Fluency in both English and Portuguese. Spanish proficiency is a plus.

- Most importantly, a passion for working to help address the issue of climate change.
