Fatal Error is a new climate-focused podcast launching in early 2020. We will also launch associated products aimed at educating software companies about their impact and what they need to do to change that into a positive impact.

 

Job Description

For one of our first projects we are seeking a WordPress Plugin Developer (Part-time Intern) to help us produce a first version of a carbon measurement and offsetting plugin. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and analytics packages (eg Google Analytics, Jetpack/WP.com stats API).

Requirements

  • Be able to build WordPress plugins from scratch.
  • Responsive design and aesthetic/UI sensibility
  • Able to work autonomously and remotely (there will be regular calls but no in-person meetings)
  • Any location is considered as long as you have good connectivity and some overlap with UK (GMT) business hours
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Ability to convert wireframes into working WordPress plugin pages
  • Understanding of code versioning tools such as GitHub
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Ability to understand, use, and implement this API

 

Remuneration and position

The position we are hiring for with this role is a part-time three-to-six-month internship. This will be compensated according to UK Internship guidelines and depending on experience and availability.

Fatal Error is operated by Indy Zone Limited, a limited liability company registered in the UK and run by Richard Muscat.
